Museo Soumaya

Museo Soumaya (Soumaya museum) is known to be a one of a kind collection considered one of the most complete of its kind. It is sponsored by the Mexican businessman Carlos Slim and honors the memory of Soumaya Domit Gemayel.

Among the collection are valuable pre-Hispanic pieces and the viceroyalty’s collection of medals, coins and bills, even larger than that of the Bank of Mexico. The visiting public will also find works by Cézanne, Renoir, Matisse, Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo and sculptures by Auguste Rodin.

The museum was designed by the architect Fernando Romero and offers guided tours for schools, families and special groups and in English (prior reserve), specialized care for people with and without apparent disabilities and older adults, care for vulnerable groups, homes and assistance centers, in addition to the Telmex Digital Classroom at no cost to visitors.
