Royal Palace is not only the historical monument, but also the residence of His Majesty The King and place for the monarchy’s official receptions. This determines the sight as one of the most exclusive royal residences.

It is designed in the style of baroque in 17th century by Nicodemus Tessin, the architect of the city during that period, after the medieval Tre Kronor Castle was destroyed.

Things to see:

  • Royal Apartments
  • Museum of Treasury with the regalia
  • Tre Kronor Museum
  • Gustav III’s Museum of Antiquities
  • Royal Chapel (in the summertime)
  • Riddarholmen Church (in the summertime)
  • Nobel Week Lights Festival (3-11 December)
