The History Museum (Historiska museet) is one of the largest museums of Sweden. Here you can see one of the widest expositions in the world dedicated to the Vikings, as well as the most significant samples of the gold and silver heritage of Sweden.

The History Museum also includes the collection of medieval art and unique archaeological findings from the site of one of the bloodiest battles in Swedish history – the Battle on the Gotland island in 1361. Don’t forget to visit the splendid Golden Room, which is furnished with amazing items that took 52 kilograms of gold and over 200 kilograms of silver to make.

In summer, the Viking Court is open for children, where they can play, make decorations or cook treats typical for the Viking Age.

Admission fees are regarded to concerts, lectures, certain guided tours and other types of events.
