Discover all the beauty of Bariloche, from Clear water to amazing trees and enjoy the beauty of nature in his fullest colors, fresh clear air in Nahuel Huapi National Park. Nahuel Huapi National Park was created in 1934, expanding the already existing Parque Nacional del Sur, one of the first in America, whose origin (1922) was the beginning of the Argentine National Park system. The territory that today covers 705,000 hectares, included that first Park of 8,500 hectares, which had been donated by the Perito Francisco Pascasio Moreno to the National State, with the express request that it be preserved as a public park for posterity. The name Nahuel Huapi comes from the Mapuche language, meaning "island of the tiger".
