Ancient Inca remains can be found at Machu Picchu also written Machupijchu, which is 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of Cuzco Peru in the Cordillera de Vilcabamba of the Andes Mountains. At a height of 7,710 feet, it is situated above the Urubamba River valley in a little saddle between the two peaks known as Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu, or “Old Peak” and “New Peak,” respectively (2,350 metres).
